Last year (2009) I attended the Australasian Conference on Obesity which was held on the 4th of December at the University of Auckland, Symonds Street, Auckland. They claimed that obesity was an endemic social problem. Specialized physicians and surgeons, experts and professionals from Australia and New Zealand explored the various aspects of obesity in terms of definition, epidemiology, aetiology, treatment and prevention.
